During a power outage you may not be able to call 111 from your business fixed line because it relies on power to work.
As a business service provider 2talk do not provide residential landline services and as a result our services are not suitable for Vulnerable Consumers under the Commerce Commission 111 Contact Code.
We do however suggest that you should always keep a mobile phone at your business premise to be used during a power outage. Remember to keep it fully charged and place it in an easily accessible location for quick access. Installing an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) will also protect your telecommunications services in the event of a power outage
Remember that devices such as cordless phones and alarms that don’t have built-in batteries also rely on power to work. This may impact your ability to contact 111 during a power outage.
