Default 2talk Broadband Settings

Default router, DNS and SMTP settings for 2talk broadband services

UFB or Fibre Broadband

2talk offers flexible connection methods for its UFB services, supporting both PPPoE and DHCP (IPoE). When placing an order, customers can choose whether to enable VLAN tagging (set to 10) or not. This flexibility allows customers to match their existing settings during a transition, minimising the need for router configuration updates.

We do still recommend ensuring that all settings are correctly configured on the router, especially the username and password for PPPoE connections. These details can serve as secondary authentication if the primary port-based authentication fails.

PPPoE (Standard settings used on 2talk services)
Encapsulation Protocol: PPP over Ethernet (PPPoE)
Encapsulation: Optional 802.1Q ( Also known as VLAN tagging ) - check if this was ordered
VLAN tag ID :Optional VLAN 10 - check if this was ordered
IP MTU: 1500 Bytes or AUTO
Username: Please use the username that we have provided. This would have been emailed to you. Please log a support ticket at live.2talk.co.nz if you do not have this.
Password: This will be your 2talk password

DHCP (Sometimes called IPoE) - Instead of PPPoE
Encapsulation: Optional 802.1Q ( Also known as VLAN tagging ) - check if this was ordered
VLAN tag ID :Optional VLAN 10 - check if this was ordered
IP MTU: 1500 Bytes

Both options will assign an ip address, gateway and DHCP servers to your router
